Le Sheik – New Record: Like It Belongs To Somebody Else

Le Sheik - Like It Belongs To Somebody ElseFollowing his first record, Humdinger, Nacho Luri, 100% responsible for Le Sheik, returns with Like It Belongs To Somebody Else, a wonderful string of amazing tracks that again take us from the most dreamy and delicate acoustic-folk (Aeroplane) to the cabaret-country (Just Looking To My Eyes), the psychodelic California (What Started as a Whisper) and to the electric Pop (Runnin‘) , which is a revisitation of a track that was originally conceived under his former alias, 8-Ball Negative. Or “Ay Que Si“, his first song in Spanish with its east-European gypsy flavour, and that hints at a possible and deeper fusion of both languages in the future.

Caballero Reynaldo & The Grand Kazoo: Live at Larvik

Kazoos en la nieve

Kazoos en la nieve

Last year, in February 2001, Caballero Reynaldo & The Grand Kazoo was invited to perform at the second Yellow Snow Festival in Larvik (Norway) with his country show of Zappamusic. They all had a terrific time, played with the snow, licked a few of Larvik landmarks, enjoyed the magnificent theatre and are more than grateful for the hospitality of Jan, Erik, and everyone at the YSF.

And now, right when the third edition is about to take place, hall of Fame Records is proud to present a limited edition (100 copies) of the performance at the Bølgen Kulturhus recorded by the Zappateers team, edited by Luis G. and mastered by Luis Ruiz.

As a bonus, the CD comes with a DVD with the live recording in video of several tracks (only one camera/angle) made by our dear zappateer friend Luuk (aka Ludznl) plus a few extras. With no overdubs but plenty of mistakes, Live In Larvik is a perfect opportunity to take a glimpse at the show that Caballero Reynaldo & The Grand Kazoo performed all around Europe during 2009 and 2010.

HoF 2012 Sales

Rebajas HoFThe Times They Are A-Changin’, are they not? At least as far as cds are concerned, apparently. Hall of Fame Records is right now in the process of transferring to digital downloads all of its catalogue. In fact you can already find quite a few releases in Bandcamp, and in the meantime we are radically reducing the price of many of our cds, until the 1st of May, 2012 or until we run out of stock, whichever happens first. Following you can find the most important sales together with, when appropriate, how many copies we have left in stock.

Thank you, as always, for your support!

Frank Zappa at the Carnegie Hall

Carnegie Hall

El Carnegie Hall de Nueva York

The Carnegie Hall opened its doors to the public for the first time back in 1891 and soon became of of the most famous venues in the world for classical and – in the last few decades – rock concerts. Frank Zappa and his mothers of invention played there on October 11th, 1971 and just like other legendary acts of the time, such as The Beatles, The Rolling Stones or Led Zeppelin, they played twice the same day, and they never went back to the Hall. However, unlike the other bands, Frank did a few different things: Both acts were completely different, they were recorded in mono, and it included the opening band: The vocal group The Persuassions.
